Upcoming events include the monthly police meetings and community walks which citizens are encouraged to attend. The "Salute to the 8th District" fundraiser will take place in October.
SafeCams8 is a public safety project of the French Quarter Management District (FQMD) in partnership with the New Orleans Police Department’s 8th District. The goal of SafeCams8 is to develop a comprehensive list of all the privately owned video surveillance cameras in the 8th District that record activities occurring on a street or sidewalk.
2013 Citizen's Police Academy
The Citizen’s Police Academy is now accepting applicants for the class beginning on Wednesday, August 21, 2013. The academy is a program designed to provide citizens with information on various functions of the New Orleans Police Department and the criminal justice system.

Come visit our T-shirt vending machine at the police station at 334 Royal Street (corner of Conti), available to the public 24/7, where you can get T--shirts for adults and children, caps, beads, patches, pins and challenge coins. The machine accepts cash as well as credit cards. All proceeds benefit the police officers of the 8th District NOPD, which serves the French Quarter, CBD and Marigny.
