Goals: The 8th District Commander's Most Wanted List

Major Edwin Hosli, Jr:

"We appreciate all that COPS 8 has done for us in the past. Now, post-Katrina, with even less available from the City, we need COPS 8 all the more to cover our increased equipment and service needs."

Here are the Major's Wishes:

1. Create an atmosphere in the station that will motivate and energize the Officers to take pride in their "home."

Most needed are fresh paint on the walls (ACCOMPLISHED!) and new flooring. Go see for yourself! Estimated total cost: $45,000

2. Maintain a monthly operating fund sufficient to cover the daily necessities in order to function effectively ($1000). ACCOMPLISHED!

3. Purchase 7 new Vespa scooters to increase visibility and mobility ($7000 each). ACCOMPLISHED!

4. Purchase 3 Polaris Ranger industrial-grade utility vehicles ($11000 each). ACCOMPLISHED!

5. Purchase 2 golf carts for the Patrol Officers along Bourbon, Royal and Chartres Streets ($7000 each) ACCOMPLISHED!

6. Purchase a full service copy machine for the station ($10,000) ACCOMPLISHED!
